    Hello everyone!

Had a wonderful day at the LCS. They had been saving some new foreign silver for me to look through (I'll include my favorite from that group here) and, while I was looking through that, a customer came in with a group of foreign coins. Since the coin shop was going to buy them from her by the pound (they'd already decided there was nothing worth bothering with in there) they allowed me to pick a large handful (about 50 2x2 coins, plus about 4 UNC rolls of Netherlands Antilles aluminum coins) for $20.

Here are the best from that group (so far):

    Canada 1914 One Cent

    Canada 1918 One Cent

    Canada 1884 One Cent
(I need some help with a variety on this one - which obverse variety is it?)

    Canada - 1884 One Cent.jpg

Canada (New Brunswick) 1864 One Cent
(Also need help with a variety on this one - is it the Tall or Short 6 in the date?)

And, my particular favorite, although the 1914 Cent is close..

    Austria 1964 50 Schilling

Just wanted to also point out the cool die cracks on the 1914 (both sides.) Maybe it is my favorite out of the bunch...

All these beauties plus much, much more for only $20.00? Call the police you stole them, wait a second, no, they gave them away! Perfect timing. Great buy!

    1) 1864 Short 6 - the top curl of the 6 is short and the loop has a round centre.
    2) 1864 Tall (or Long) 6 - the top curl of the 6 is long and extends until its tip is aligned with the right edge of the 6's loop. The loop has a more oval centre.

The Tall 6 is the scarcer of the two varieties.

Your coin looks like the tall 6.

I was thinking it was the Tall 6 as well...it's the other one that's more difficult...I have the Charlton book, and being perfectly honest I can't tell at all...

In case it wasn't clear, I paid $14 for the 50 Schilling...separate from the group...$20 for all the rest of the coins pictured here (plus loads more...)

Still happy at $2.50 over melt...

I don't collect foreign coins but I would have gladly paid $14.00 for the Austrian 50 shilling, it is gorgeous.

    Beautiful coins stldanceartist!
The 1884 looks like an Obverse 2 to me (OC2 in Charlton) based on the chin.
Nice haul, I would've been happy if I picked up that 1914 for $20:)
