I have been searching for a price on a Columbian Expo Half Dollar I have. It is a error coin. It is listed in the Cherrypicker's Guide,Third Edition. I purchased it several years ago not knowing it was an error coin. After discovering it was an error coin I had it graded. It graded MS62, FS#000.5. To this day I have not been able to find a value for it. The Cherrypicker's Guide Classified it as a URS-2. Does anyone know what the value of it might be?
    Thank You

Just out of curiosity, what is the error?

Hi JBK: It has the date repunched. It is highly visible on the 2.

    Welcome to the forum,

A repunched date doesn't really add much to the value unless you can find a collector looking to add that particular coin to a type set. While it is a neat coin, the overall value would still be in the $100 to $125 range as are any MS-62 Columbian Half.

Thank you for your reply. I didn't know what it would be worth. I only paid $9.00 for the coin. I guess in a way I found a gem. Thank you again for the quick reply. I really enjoy coin collecting and searching for unusual finds in bank rolled coins and change.

    Thank You.

    Hi MSM. Welcome to CoinTalk.

Here's one that was offered for sale recently, but no one chose to pay the price that was being asked.

Of course, that $7 S&H charge would be enough to scare anyone off. :D

Good luck with your coin collecting, and don't be a stranger. There's always room for one more around here. :)

Hi Jody: Thanks for the information. I took a look at it and it is over priced. The coin shows alot of wear on the hair. I'll be back on the forum and check things out. I'm glad I found this site. Tkanks again for the information.

I've been looking for the value of mine for a long time, too. There apparently isn't enough demand on the coin for people to give errors second thoughts.

HI Ilya; I have had this one for several years and never knew what it would be worth. I guess there isn't enough collectors who look at error coins. I enjoy collecting all kinds of coins, Foreign, U.S.,Tokens, Etc.... Thank you for the reply.
