Hello fellow coin freaks. So I have lost my mind a bit lately over toned coins. Ive always liked em but have gotten a little nutty and have aquired some specimens, mostly mid 20th century, that to me are nothing short of stunning. That said, when dealing with a beautifully colored coin, how much if ant does that play into the grade? Assuming its an already MS coin, will the eye appeal actually add whole points? A 65 to a 66 or 7? Ive seen prices all over on these things so its tough to know wat theyre worth and what a good deal is. Any guidence would be great. Thanks
It depends. Eye appeal is part of a grade so yes it can move the grade to an extent if it has the right look. It won't make a 63 a 68 but it can bump a grade. All of that said most people who say colorful rainbow toning etc its really not
