BOSTON (CBS) — The contents of a more than 200-year-old time capsule sealed in the State House by Sam Adams and Paul Revere will be unveiled on January 6, state officials announced Tuesday. . . . The X-rays showed a collection of silver and copper coins dating back to 1652, an engraved silver plate, a copper medal depicting George Washington, newspapers, the seal of the Commonwealth, cards and a title page from the Massachusetts Colony Records. http://boston.cbslocal.com/2014/12/...-by-sam-adams-paul-revere-to-be-opened-jan-6/ Can't wait to see those coins!
Yes, and it would be downright silly to lock it back up again. Put the stuff in a museum so we can all take a good look.
Someone should hold a contest to guess which coins and how many of each are inside! They're opening it on January 6... I count over a dozen coins but maybe less than 20, though that's just one side for the x-ray image. Hint, per one report: it has "a collection of silver and copper coins (dating from 1652 and 1855)".
