Hi, I am new here and want to find out what some coins are worth. Our old neighbor gave them to my dad awhile ago. Theres one little book called mercury head dimes. There are 10 missing and they are: 1920-d, 1921, 1921-d,1926-s, 1927-d,1930-s, 1931,1931-d, 1934-d and 1938-d. Theres a book called roosevelt dimes but it is missing about half of them and goes from 1946 to 1970-d The last book is called barber, liberty head or morgan dimes and there aren't many in them. The ones that are included are :1892,1898,1899,1900,1901,1902,1902-o,1903,1904,1906,1908,1908-D,1909,1909-D,1910,1911,1911-S,1911-D,1912,1912-S,1912-D,1913,1914,1914-S,1915,1916 Some of those have K's or B's written in pen next to them so I have no idea what that means, and he wrote "mother" next to one. Also there are buffalo nickels and wheat pennies.
The coins listed really depend on condition. You did mention mercury dimes, the major Key is 1916-D. This coin alone is worth hundreds of dollars. The majority if circulated are only worth 40 to 50 cents. Roosevelts aren't really worth much, but can be 40 to 50 cents for circulated coins to a few dollars in uncirculated. Barber dimes can be worth a few dollars a piece to much more. All coins are valued based on condition. So many factors are involved that it is impossible to detail here. My suggestion is that you should visit a local dealer just to get an evaluation. Do not be in a hurry to sell no matter what the offer is.
