Hey everyone. I'm new to collecting coins and received a couple of hundred as a gift. I was wondering if you could let me know if there is anything valuable in the bunch that I have. I took some photos of some that looked better than the others. Let me know what you think. Here is the link to the images in Picassa. http://picasaweb.google.com/Gregthom234/Coins Thanks for the help!
Some of them look as though they could be silver. But cant tell from the pics. I dont know much of anything about world coins, but there plenty of others on here that do. Try finding some of the earlier dates, and start asking about them and ask which ones are silver.
Very nice! Much better than I expected when I opened the pic, in fact. There certainly is some silver in there. Your best bet is to post the pieces you think may be of more value individually. I'd post them in the world section, if I were you - more likely that the people who know would find them that way.
Or go to Wikipedia and start typing. http://picasaweb.google.com/Gregthom234/Coins/photo#5149949840061958066 BTW, the helmeted guy might be a Panamanian Coin. I think thats Mr. Balboa.
Greg - Nice collection : Buy the book, read the book, understand what you read, and research each coin.[world coins book].You have a nice start on a foreign coin collection.Lay your foundation and go foreward from there.A lot of fun and hard work but educational, relaxing and rewarding. Coinman...
Nice coins. The local library may have some world coin books to get you started if you don't want to buy a book right now.
Those large cents are not too shabby either! Cannot make out the date on the wheat cents but the one in the wrapper looks like it's been well taken care of. Love the old half dime - most people 40 and younger have never even seen one! That's a nice gift all the way around including a nice variety of old foreign coins! Best Regards, Darryl
Supper collection of world coins you have. Do you have any pixs of the US coins up close? Would like to see older coins for reference.
You've got a nice collection of worldwide coins now. Put some time into it and you'll reap many rewards. Some of them may be monetary, some just a good feeling for the history of these coins & what your relative left for you. Good luck. Bruce
Nice assortment of coins! I don't know anything about world coins, so no help there. It might be fun to purchase a book or two and find the info out for yourself. Have fun. Guy~
