    Hello all,

First time on this board. Bought a collection of 1909 to 1940 lincoln in an old Whitman folder. All slots have been taped and retaped because of age. If I want to get these slabbed would itr be a good idea to remove adhesive from coins or not? if so, how? Remember these are going to be slabbed, atleast the key dates

    Thx Ron

I think you will have to...but you might have to send them to ANACS too....

I would take the tape off and place the coins in Acetone...unless someone has a better idea...and then I would send them to ANACS.

Howdy Ron - Welcome to the Forum !!

I would agree - if the coins have been taped into the album - then it is likely that only ANACS would grade them. The other grading companies would return the coins as damaged.

But the question you should ask yourself first is - are the coins worth the expense of having them graded ? Many Lincoln cents are not, especially if they anything less than MS65 or better.
