Curious to know opinions on what would be the value of 300 Buffalo Nickels.

And what I mean is how much are you willing to spend on the Nickels with the fairly concrete knowledge that the nickels were not poured over by someone with any direct knowledge of specific dates, errors and etc. but someone who just when found them threw them in and old tin.

I have that opportunity and would like to know the opinion of the folks in the room. I have not poured through them to check dates, condition and the like and I think the deal will be for me to buy them without being able to do that first.

How much would you be willing to drop in hopes of coming away with some value?

I'd probably go 25-30 cents each. That's fair in my opinion and approximately what a reputable dealer would likely pay as well.

You should look at them first. Dateless, AG Buffaloes don't seem to have much numismatic value, except maybe to a hoarder. I wouldn't pay anything over spot unless I could see the dates, and spot value today is exactly five cents. With that knowledge, offer them 10 cents apiece unless they're in a better overall condition. But if you buy them sight-unseen, you may well be paying way over spot for a jar of nickel bullion.

Just take 10 at random. If the majority dont have dates, then that will greatly affect your profits/Price.
