Question for the group inspired by the Enhanced uncirculated dollar coin recently put out by the mint. I'm the classic sucker the mint makes money off by putting out the same coin in different finishes. I feel compelled to get every finish to complete the set, but at the same time, I feel pretty foolish doing so. I'm hard pressed to call these a true variety. Thoughts? It's one thing for the S business strike quarters, because then it's bus strike vs. proof. But I feel really silly buying an unc set, then going out and getting another unc set with "enhanced uncirculated", particularly with the price up threefold.
Hey, I liked the finish of the Enhanced Uncirculated Kennedy Half that I picked one up...from eBay. But in NO way did it make me want to get the other versions, which range from "seen it" to "why would you..."
Funny how taste varies. I just posted in another thread how the mint blew it on the enhanced Kennedy, with the lack of higher polish and an improper wire brush cleaning appearance.
I bought the Kennedy set this year, bought it from the mint so I wouldn't have to go out and pay ebay prices, which so far seem to be more than I paid.
