Who else apart from me has adopted the trend of collecting British Commonwealth coins & banknotes by date as well as by type? Lately,I have been concentrating on collecting British Africa, especially South Africa & Zimbabwe by date, plus I have been collecting Newfoundland coins by date.If you have got something to contribute, then you are more than welcome to post here.

    But seriously folks.....

I'd love to do this, but I think the Brits use dates more often on their banknotes than many other countires (??). If this is the case, it could be quite a challenge, I imagine.

To be honest, aside from US Mint proof sets and SEs, I have not cared so much about dates lately. I might be dangerously close to becoming a type set collector. I used to kind of look down on those people when I was filling Whitan albums years ago, but now I understand the attraction.

Anyway, if I got onto collecting something by date, it would become an obsession, so I can see that side as well.

I'm just wondering when they will issue new Euro notes. All they have are 2002 dated ones with the signature of the first Treasurer. There is a new guy in chnarge but he has not been printed yet.
