I'll only rank those who played in the last round.

Six players booked the 10 graded mark, so had another of thier lowest scoring grade dropped... Every 11th grade you get to drop your lowest.
    BadThad:hail: - drops lowest 2
    Mikenoodle:hail: - drops lowest 2
    RLM's:hail: - drops lowest 2
    Louie2bits:hail: - drops lowest
    Duke:hail: - drops lowest 2
    Abe:hail: - drops lowest 2

Rankings (points reflect average points off pcgs grades):
GOLD - Duke - 2.05 (can't keep this guy off the top of the dirt pile)
SILVER - Rlm's - 2.29 (still charging forward,,, watch out)
    BRONZE - MPCUSA - 2.40

    4th - LouieTwoBits - 2.46
    5th - BadThad - 3.14
    6th - Abe - 3.19
    7th - Mikenoodle - 3.23
    8th - Shoe - 3.58

    And now....

Here is the next set: All are PCGS graded. Theme is color.. we won't score by it, but offer it up along with your grades anyway and lets see how we do. This will be the last of PCGS,, getting tired of them,,,, round 7 we'll move on to NGC and give everyone a fresh start on the gradings.. That said,, buckle down on these, results will define our PCGS grading champ.

That 1916 S is tough...the reverse, especially on the O, the tips of the wheat stalks and the wheat seed pods all show signs of wear to me. Although I waffled between MS and AU a few times before I submitted my final guess.

But my grading comes more from guessing than experience

    Round 6 recap:

    PCGS grades -
    28D - MS64 RB
    38D - MS65 RB
    16S - MS62 BN
    00 - MS67 RD
    05 - MS67 RD
    29 - MS64 RB

    Opinions:
Theme was color, again. As observed in the last thread, you can see how diffused light really makes a RB coin appear RD. The area's to note are those somewhat grayish red or dirty red area's,, those are more brown in hand than in the pics.
Those who offered color did pretty well: Mikenoodle and RLM's tied for best,, Duke hit all of them, but only offered up 4 of 6 colors.

28D- Could get a RD designation in a new holder or more if submitted during a more lax pgcs grading cycle. They appear to have been tough back in the day. This is an old holder. Nice coin, you can see weakness in the RD on the cheek, ear, and left of head. Also some RD weakness on rev to the left of "C". I probably would have said 65.
38D - Beautiful toning in hand. I probably would have gone 65 or 66.
16S - Toning close to that of the ol' blue 13.. same look, less pronounced. But very very eye appealing and colorful when rolled under light in hand. Minimal wear, but tough to tell,,, it's in that AU-MS range as noted in the thread and hard to grade. I'd have gone 60 and split the middle. I congratulate those who took a stand in solid AU or solid MS range.
00 - Ugly, water spotty, good detail... must have been a birth year purchase I picked up a decade ago.. blech. But a good comparative sample to place by the 05 for an illustration of tpg variability,,, it's either variability, or they don't grade by ugly waterspots... who knows ?
05 - Pretty Satin finish.. what a 67 should look like imo.
29 - Another RB to illustrate how RD a RB coin can look under diffused light. Note the dirty look within the fields,, nice coin, and Rd'ish in hand, but Redder under this light. You have to look for these weak RD area's on coins under diffused light or you risk over grading the color.

Awards for this set of cents:
    Best - A couple tied this round - 1.00 (BadThad & MPCUSA)
    HA - Coinman - 6.17 - Welcome Coinman. ;)

    Now on to round 7.
We'll do four cents in round 7, and jump over to NGC for a couple rounds.
