    Semi-finals

I'll only rank those who played in the last round. (rankings remain the same from round 10)... fun round didn't score.

Dropped scores this week. no one :hail:

    We'll do 5 this round.
    1 PCGS
4 PCI (1 green label, 3 gold label's) - I spent a lot of time searching for PCI value buys around 6-8 years ago and found all of these pick ups to meet or exceed thier stated grade,,, also, even though I think we have clearly illustrated some of the primary tpg's variability within these threads (some significant, some less so but still apparent), to provide for PCI variability and to prevent any outbursts, I will provide comment for each of these PCI's in advance. I also tell you how many points over or undergarded I think they are, but I ain't no professional grader, so use this advice at your own risk.

Gotta have at least 10 graded to rank.

Rankings (points reflect average points off tpg grades):
    GOLD - RLM's - 1.78
    SILVER - Louie2Bits - 1.8788
    BRONZE - Duke - 1.8780
    Others:
    BadThad - 2.71
    Shoe - 3.13

As we continue to drop lowest scores every point becomes more critical.

    And now....

12D - green label - It could not go any higher than it is graded. Grade is about right,, or at least in the general area. Looks cleaned on the rev.
31S - gold label - beautiful coin imo, nice toning, is graded correctly, maybe 1 point low... maybe.
09 - gold label - another nicely toned coin, but unusual tone,, would probably get a questionable color tag from the big 3 (maybe).. graded 1-2 points low imo.
19 - very undergraded... I'll leave it there. Every round needs one of these..... Nice color, honest coin.
    34D - pcgs - perfectly graded :smile

Last time I checked, this is like golf where the lowest score wins. Isn't 1.8780 lower than 1.8788?

Depends upon which hand your drinking your beer out of the day the score is tallied. Must have been drinking left handed that day... oops,, your right.

    Round 12 semi-finals recap:

Welcome back Coinman, your ranked.... have fun. ;)

Pretty brutal round, except for one. Actually, most of you dialed in on these very well, except for a couple coins within the batch. It's pretty neat to show 2nd level "undergraded" coins... they are out there,, and the best thing about them is that they will sometimes go for a discount at thier stated grade,, never mind that they are undergraded to start with. Anyway,,,,

    PCI grades -
    12D - 45 BN
    31S - MS64 BN
    09 - MS63 BN
    19 - AU58 BN
    PCGS grade -
    34D - MS66 RD

    Opinions:
12D - Agressive grade imo,, I'd have called it 40... but is around the ball park. Cleaned imo, but not harsh at all,, just notable on the reverse.
31S - love it. attractive, nice coin for the grade.
09 - nice tone.. nicer in hand.
    19 - AU58 ?,, ok, I'll buy it at a discount at that grade.
34D - looks like it just came out of the mint.

The 12D hurt everyone except for RLM's. The 19 hurt everyone period.
Everyone got, or came close to, the 31S, 09 and 34D....

Awards for this set of cents:
Best - RLM's - 1.2 > Are you kidding me,,, 4 of 5 exactly.. you hackin' into my system and cheating ? 2 points ahead of nearest competition... amazing round.
    HA - Shoe - 4.0 ;)
    Others:
    BadThad- 3.2
    Duke - 3.0.... and that's with 3 of 5 exact..
    Coinman - 3.2
    Louie2bits - 3.6

On to the finals....... and lucky round 13.
