Been lurking around here for awhile, but this is my first post!

I inherited these coins from my grandfather and have no idea where they came from or what they are.

Any help in identifying these coins would be greatly appreciated!

the top one is an ottoman empire 40 para........

 

Thanks moneyer12! Really cool to find out what it is especially coming from my grandfather....he's the one the got me into coin collecting in the first place.

Any idea as to its value?

the ottoman coin is worth around £5 sterling.

 

If I read the date right its 1856, (1255 +19-1= 1273 AH)
11.3 million minted, Value around 3-4 dollars maybe.
