How many coins/rolls are in a pound of cents? I wish eBay sellers said its equivilent in rolls or coins instead of pounds so buyers don't have to try and figure it out.

The worst part of that pound thing is not all cent coins weigh the same. Not only due to different materials such as what happened in 1982, but I think there were about 9 different changes to the cent over the last, almost 100 years. Then you have to take into consideration the loss of material due to wear and you get another slight difference in weight. Now what I always like is when they say not looked through and you ask them if there are any Canadian cents mixed in and they tell you none, for sure. How would they know unless they went though all of them? Then the ones selling by the pound and they are in rolls. The roll paper has weight also so your paying for that too. Just one more little ebay scam.

I believe there are about 145 cents in a pound- each cent before 1982 weighs( 3.11 G) & after 1982 the weight goes down to (2.5 G)

So if I do the math there are 9.11 cents per ounce & 16 ounces per pound = 145.76 total

The weights just noted are for coins as minted, not circulated. I've weighed numerous old wheat back coins from circulatioin and find very, very few of them come close to that. Unless a seller stipulates all as minted, then the weight would never be the same as minted. 145.76 coins is idealy what a pile of brand news cents would be considering no accidental clipped planchets, addons, excess bubble materials, offsets, blanks, etc.
I've seen double rolled coins also therefore creating additional paper weight. Now if the coins are in plastic rolls, add more non coin weight. Some dealers will include the bag these coins are in also.

Agreed ; those #'s are ideal conditions, but they shouldnt be any more than 20 cents off from that.
