    Pictures will help!

    Don't handle any of the raw coins with your fingers if you did not know that already.

    Bad time to sell silver :( prices are way down. Easiest thing to do to gage prices on the mint sets is to look at ebay to see what they are selling for. The 80's and early 90's Mint Sets will be disappointing. Your ASE's are probably going to be around $15 to $20 for the proofs less for the non-proofs - but again just take a look at ebay. If you have a 95 Proof ASE - that will be a different story. Wish I had even one of those! Best to ask about these things specifically by creating a numbered list with the specifics of each item.

    I would be very interested to hear more about the dollar and see a picture of both sides!!! Any other paper currency you should ask questions about as well!

    I'm not sure exactly what you mean by Silver congressional coin so I will have to see what you say later :)

    Sell on ebay as the holidays are around the corner - show all of the boxes and certificates.

    BTW: I grew up in Up-State NY - (Liverpool).

    Best Regards Darryl

    most dealers are paying 3 dollars over spot for silver eagles. So around 13 bucks each except for 1996 which is around 30 to 35

    They are worth much more than $35. You need to get a grey sheet to help you understand the value. You can search/google grey sheet and order a copy one verion old for a small amount of money. Don't sell 93 - 95 and 97 for that amount. I'll give you blue book values tonight which are not very accurate at this point with the changes in Silver prices.

    Good Luck - it will be worth your time to look for the grey sheet copy.

    I'm pretty sure they would be worth bullion , unless you could find a Highlander fan .

    What he said... Probably not worth anything close to $300 assuming each coin is one ounce and silver is at about $10.40 an ounce :( This is one of those things you should sell as a collectible on ebay in the movie and entertainment collectibles section as well as a cross listing in the bullion section. A dealer isn't going to give you much for it.

    I would say those would NOT be worth bullion unless you are trying to sell them to a dealer...and I would say that selling your coins (any coin) to a dealer is the worst way to sell a coin as they will always justify a lowball price regardless of the coin and its condition or rarity. I could walk in with a 15,000 coin and dealer will have a myriad of canned reasons why he can only give me 250.00.

    I would say they would be worth less than 300...but if you find the right buyer you could probably get 200 on ebay...it might take longer to sell but you will get far closer to the value (on most coins) if you sell them to collectors and not to dealers.

    So lets break this down:

    42 One ounce unc. silver eagles = $440 (current Bullion value)
    95P = $150 minimum
    96P = $65
    89S = $30
    92S = $25
    91 Rushmore = $25
    2 - 86 Liberty's (Dollars ?) = $35
    Tube of Canadian qtrs = No idea

    $735 + qtrs - ebay/paypal fees = mid $600's is my guess so I would say the $605 offer isn't that out of line. I think you would really get more the $440 for the unc's on ebay and probably more for the 95. So, if you sell them yourself on ebay you will come out ahead of the offer on the table but you will have to deal with the sellers/shipping.

    This is my take on it.

    Good Luck ~ Darryl

    Bootzilla,

    Welcome to Coin Talk!

    My advice to you would be to hold onto everything until about mid-February or mid-March if that is possible! Many folks have spent their' budgets already on Christmas and is hard to get the maximum value for coins and even Silver Bullion this time of year. I know all to well, as I lost well over $500 on some coins that I sold on eBay just before Christmas last year! Also, typically Bullion prices tend to rise after the first of the year and if you can put the coins on eBay when folks have started getting the Income Tax Refunds, then you might get much higher prices for them.

    Good Luck...Frank
