I am a believer in the Holy Bible..... I am Christian...... With that said I have taken a liking to coins from Israel with a Biblical theme........ Here are some images from some that reside in my collection, I hope you like them. A pretty coin depicting the Holy City: These coins are very special to me....
Queencoin...absolutely stunning. I admire your devotion to combining your faith with your collection...how many hobbies are able to do that? Simply beautiful. Robin
the third coin is very unique, it is sorta concave with very high relief.... and a beauty with strong luster...... it is a large piece, I believe it contains 1 oz of Silver....
Yeah I noticed the bowl effect - it's the way the city wall kind of fades into the rim that got my attention. Very unique
Like yourself i'm thinking of doing something like this, coin/religion theme. Except i'm a pagan, so i was gonna do the Roman gods first. Then i might shift onto the Greek versions. Athenian Owl! It's a good approach though, and i like it!
I am not an expert on the Jewish religion but it is to my understanding that the jews believe that one day their religion will end and a new world religion will take place with the only holiday remaining from their religion would be passover to remind everyone of the horror of slavery and the ten commandments. I thought it was interesting tibbit to mention since you said you were a Christian and had a coin that stated "Let My People Go". That would definitely make the third coin a keeper if the messiah ever comes or comes back. Didn't want to get religious so I tried to keep the comments more historical/cultural for coin collecting purposes
I know that worries me too... it could be pretty big. I'm trying to narrow it down to just the main Olympian gods first. Shouldn't be as massive a challenge that way. Hopefully!
So I believe in the Old Testament and the 'Let My People Go' causes me to think of Moses telling this repeatedly to Pharaoh....
I'm no expert either - I've only been Jewish for a little over 72 years - but I've never heard of that "belief". Anyhow, discussion over.
