Here's my first Guess the Grade poll. I added my user name just to not confuse people from Rlmcent's Guess the Grade poll's.

#1 is my PCGS certified 1943 Mercury dime. Sorry, I am not experienced at photoing coins so the first picture is a little blurry. The second one is very nice.

    Have fun!

PCGS 65 or 66. Need better pics of the obverse to form a strong opinion, but I guessed 65.

Obverse picture replaced. Much better and easier to grade.

Is there a scratch on Liberty's head above the wing? On the coin or on the plastic?

Nice coin - almost looks like a die crack through the hair. Never really tried to grade these, but went with 66.

  9. I voted MS66. TC

Thanks everyone for what you think! I just looked very closely at it and the scratch can be seen only looking at it from different angles. It is truly a nice piece. I remember taking it outside in the bright sun and blinding myself from the blas white details!

so the coin IS scratched then? not the plastic?

Yes the scratch is on the coin. But you can only see it from certain angles. Not a bad one but it is noticeable.

Scratch? Die crack? Raised or recessed?

It's hard to grade from these photo's.
And I think that the "scratch" is a Die Crack as I've seen them in that position before.
But it's hard to tell from the photo's.

Lets keep in mind that I just photoed the coin straight on and with no special "loop lenses" or any other special stuff to get very close.

Nice coin, one small mark which may have prevented it from getting 68. Good amount of luster. Truly a nice coin.
