I would love to see any pics of coins anyone owns that are the coinfacts picture coins on the pcgs website
This ones mine you can tell by the darker spots of toning on it is the coin image for vf-30 the raw pic was before I sent it in
These are in my Type Set. All PCGS low rez version of the TrueViews, I think all of these were on CoinFacts at one point. (this was sold)
T Thats too bad hope someone's dumb enough to submit it to pcgs in the future as it's a beautiful coin
Yeah, I still keep much better photos of the coin on hand from before I submitted it (the others too - If I see any of those coins, I'll have the "owner" dead to rights).
I want to try this again I want people to post pics not of a true view coin. I want to see pics of pcgs coins you own where the coin you own is shown as the example coin on coinfacts. Example given. So it turns out the coin I bought from Amanda while being the lowest graded in the series is also the only example coin picture on the coinfacts website. So please post your coin and the coinfacts page. Note first the pics. Match the pcgs coin number to the true view and last compare the true view picture to the coinfacts example coin. Yea I have 2 coinfacts coins now.
1828 O-120--- a sub feature, and the With more soon to come!(most likely!)http://www.pcgscoinfacts.com/Coin/Detail/39775/45
You took those pictures or that is your Isabella quarter? I am so lost. Are you in your cups? And nice examples all around everyone!
I've never had PCGS image any coins for me, but there is a coin (perhaps two) that I own that the previous owner(s) had imaged and that appear on Coin Facts.
I think people are constantly confused by what PCGS calls their different photo services. CoinFacts and TrueView images are of the same quality, but are not the same PCGS service. CoinFacts images (without the PCGS background and Certificate number) are taken by the PCGS folks to populate the images in their online CoinFacts resource. There is no charge to the owner for CoinFacts images. TrueView images (with the PCGS background and Certificate number) are taken by the PCGS folks at the request of the submitter/owner and for a fee. Sometimes the TrueView images are also added to the CoinFacts database of images without the background and certificate number matte). SecurePlus images (low quality scans of coins submitted under the SecurePlus grading tiers) are intended to be a "fingerprint" of the coin surfaces for verification and authentication purposes only. This scan is a part of the SecurePlus submission fee, and the quality is generally pretty poor (as is the case with scans of coins in general).
Not that I have seen. CoinFacts images are usually done without the request of the submitter for either 1) World coins that do not yet have a representative image in the CoinFacts system, or 2) coins of utmost beauty (either because of toning or because of an amazingly high grade, or both). I have been pleasantly surprised that a few of my world coins are also the examples pictured in the CoinFacts database -- almost all of these are world coins for which PCGS has graded only one or two examples and they imaged the coin as a representative example in their system. For example, this coin, and this coin (pictured below) are both the only examples graded by PCGS and are in my collection -- and both are imaged by PCGS for the CoinFacts system.
