Hi, I found a 1982 D Pennie i found this coin in my pocket change. the face is a lot differant then others Lincoln has no neck. I would like to know if it is worth any thing?? I' ll post a picture.
This pics are way too small. From what I can see with the image provided, I don't see anything different from a normal cent.
I can make out Zinc. My guess is that someone dropped this coin in acid to clean it. Most people don't know that in 1982 the copper coins became copper-clad zinc. I've seen people do this and leave the penny in the acid too long....the results are that the copper dissolves and leaves behind nasty looking zinc spots. My guess is that lincoln's neck dissolved in the acid.
