Coin with man holding decapitated head - anyone know where from?

I've seen multiple times in the past a gruesome coin where a grinning fellow is holding a sword in one hand and a decapitated head in the other (at least I think that is what was going on).

Does anyone know the name of this coin or where it comes from? Something makes me think it was Turkish or Ottoman or something like that. I'm not even sure how old it was.

    Thanks.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

my first thought was the medusa coins, but that artuqid coin is fantastic as well.
