I've collected rolls of Kennedy halves and various dollar issues from the Mint. I'm wondering if anyone has a feel for whether they would have more market value if left in rolls or sold separately.

    Thanks,

    Paul

Good place to start...Check recently sold listings of coins and or rolls on ebay.

You'll likely gross more selling 20 individual pieces than you will selling one roll of 20 but you'll also be doing 20 times the work.

This. The retail prices for individual coins in price guides are partly a reflection of the work required for dealers to evaluate, price and display each item. Especially for low value common items.

Less time will be spent with the rolls. I’ll sell the rolls if that’s your game and be done with it.

It's really hard to sell moderns. There are buyers for BU rolls of half dollars though and they are bringing strong prices right now. Most sell for 20 to $45 with many between 25 and $30.

The '82, '83, and silver issues go for much more. The '68 and '69 wholesale for $115 and the '65 SMS for $160. The '70-D brings $280 if pristine. Keep in mind high end buyers are picky and don't want problem coins.

Apparently the big retailers are having trouble keeping this stuff in stock and supplies are much thinner than most realize.
