This little thread goes out to everyone including the creators of cointalk. imho, (Suggestion) I believe to move forward into the world it would be beneficial to create an app for cointalk. Cell phones are being used more than laptops for the younger generations. It would be nice to see this forum continue to grow. what do you think?
I may be dreaming this. And admittedly my memory ain't what it used to be..... But I could have sworn I saw @paddyman98 showing off a CoinTalk Ap that he had on his phone.
I'm down for an app even though the site works fine on my phone. I boxed my PC up a couple of years ago and I don't even remember the last time I charged any of my 3 laptops. Something doesn't come up very often that I can't do on my phone.
The more I think about it.... I am thinking that Paddy may have created an icon for his phone and when he tapped that icon it was just like a shortcut to the CT webpage.... But he sure did have some folks going on about it.
Even though a lot of people are using handheld devices these days, I have to say that when members are posting things that are small and need scrutiny, my 21" monitor is far better than a 3x6 screen
What would be on the Application anyway? Some kind of troll detector warning? Warning.. The new CoinTalk member has multiple accounts. Troll alert Troll alert I think the website is just fine.. I'm not allowed to use Facebook anymore. My wife said I'm grounded from there for as long we are married...
Good for her. I stopped using Facebook, and in fact all social media like it, when it came to light they were using my data against my wishes.
I agree, and the eBay phone apt is no where near as good as what I can do with my PC and large monitor. However, it's nice to be able to use the eBay apt on my phone when I'm out and about.
There's an app called "Tapatalk" that works great with some forums and I actually used it all the time including with this one. That was probably 8 years ago? Then this forum started not working well with it and I complained but nothing was done. Some forums don't work on it at all and maybe this one doesn't work at all anymore. But the app was great!! Had all the forums I used in one spot and that was years ago. The admin has to do something to stay compatible and apparently it wasn't possible so I quit using the app. Maybe I should try it again because it made the phone experience so much better and was so easy to switch between forums.
Sometimes you don't know what you're missing. Tapatalk was a great app but I don't think CT works on it anymore.
Hi,@paddyman98 ,it’s been a while! Hope you are doing great on your side of the planet. Still metal detecting? I do use the short cut like you do on my phone. I was thinking that if an app was made then it could be something for the younger generations.. An app would make it easier to log in for other users as you don’t have to remember your password all the time. Also you would get message alerts and could pop on and answer a question quickly. Personally,I would like to see this website continue growing for more generations that would like to take an interest in learning about coins as well as the history behind it all. There is a lot of valuable and invaluable information here. As well as..well experienced collectors who have a wonderfully vast knowledge of coins that can help teach our young collectors. All of your opinions are greatly appreciated. Thank you
