They still make everday in China. They use recent made coins and sell as old sword at too high price.
The real ones (read: old, original) are valuable. The new ones (read: replica coins & junk) are trinkets.

I had the pleasure of seeing the Lord of the Rings exibition at Te Papa (our national museum) and they had all of the swords on display.
That must have been incredible. I'm a huge LOTR fan, and when I saw the sword in the film, I had to get one.
It was fantastic! They had all of the costumes and set miniatures and of course the RINGS!! Te Papa is in Wellington as well so all of the locations were pointed out.
