I have uploaded a new webpage about coin stores in Seoul, Korea. A few people here have shown some interest in Korean coins, so here goes: http://www.dokdo-research.com/coinshops.html This page is not something that I can keep "up to date" very easily, but the majority of these coin shops have been in business in their current locations in Seoul for at least a decade or longer, so the information here should be somewhat relevant in the next few years. I just thought this might be of interest to some of you out there...
I found your new webpage to be very interesting. Most of my Korean coins were bought at a coin store in Seoul back in 1974. I remember having difficulty even finding a coin store at that time! I could speak some Korean then and I remember the owner being very patient and spending a good part of an afternoon discussing and showing me old Korean coins from his collection. Even though I did not have much money, I was still able to put together a nice type collection of ancient Korean coins at a reasonable price. Based on your pictures and descriptions, the coin stores of today are much different. Thanks again for sharing your observations. Gary
