    Grade opinions?
$6 for the jefferson, 50 cents for the 1918. Good deal?

Also wanted to mention that there were a lot of women and African-Americans there so that was a good thing to see.

What is the step pattern on the sides of Monticello of that nickel?

Yeah, I noticed that too, but I'm not sure what it is.

Ruben - what are you asking about ? Do you mean the areas I circled ? If so, it is quite normal, so I'm confused.

why the multiples on the cents, are you building a roll set?

Anyways, glad you had a good time at the show, they are always fun.

No, not building a roll. I just bought so many multiples because this one dealer had a bargain bin that had a lot of 1918's in it, and I got four of them for under 20 cents apiece. The other one (pictured) was 50 cents.

Any grade opinions on the Jefferson?

The grade's hard to tell from the pictures. It could go AU or MS -- can't tell.

What concerns me, though is the rim on the obverse...over by the D in "GOD" and by the "WE." It looks pretty screwed up. Are those marks really there?

Luckily no. That is just dirt or something. It isn't marks.

    Glad to hear it.

    I'd probably go MS-64.

I think you got a good deal all-around.

Yes - is that in the design? I went back and looked at my proof nickels and didn't see that at all?

The only other ones I looked at have it. Those 2 were the second 1943 I posted and a 1957 proof.

OK - I learned something new and I'm going to now watch out for that in all my Jefferson's and in all of Paul's Jefferson's especially.

Let's put it this way Ruben, it's supposed to be there, but it often isn't. Remember when I explained how very hard it is to find a Jeff with a full details on Monticello ? A perfect example.
