I had a good two days at the coins show here in Jacksonville....I bought 16 Morgans, a Peace, a Trade, and a couple of Large Cents. Here are the pictures: 1876 S Trade Dollar 1904 S Circulated but still PL... 1881 Nice Toning 1883 S S/S VAM 6
1878 7TF VAM 198 Tripled Cotton, line under crossbars of 1 and 7, over-polished wings. RARE! Grade? P.S. I got this for $50 =)
1899 O VAM 31 Micro O ....Nice pickup for 12 bucks=) 1878 8TF ....I thought this was a VAM 9, First die pair, but I think I was wrong. Oh well, this was 12 bucks as well =p Here are the pictures...perhaps I was right in the first place. Oh, and it does not look as bad as it does in the pictures....
1878 8TF DBL RIB ...new VAM?? This has a DDO and the spiked A reverse... More pictures in a few... Ok, here they are: Could this be a new VAM!??
Your Trade Dollar looks like a "Micro S" variety. I have one to compare it to. Very nice acquisitions.
And finally, some better pictures of some of my higher grade acquisitions... 1886 BU w/ nice golden toning 1899 O BU with light yellow toning and nice reverse die cracks but a weird black mark on the reverse....would acetone take this off? 1899 O BU Mostly white with some toning spots...
Is it real? I would have paid $100 for the coin. It looks to be close to fine condition in my eyes... Ben
Haha...I'm pretty sure it's real...I had bought about 200 bucks worth of coins from the same guy and had talked to him for like an hour and a half, so he gave me a good price....
What do ya'll think about that 1878 8TF DBL RIB and Spike A....anyone have an attribution for it, or is it a new VAM?
Haha...good guess, but it's actually to help fund my collection, although they are fun to search for.
