    Hello cointalk,
I have recently received a 2004 W $10 eagle, graded PF 70 by NGC. I am having a very hard time selling it for a good price. It seems that dealers either lowball me or don't deal in "that kind" of coin, since it is one you very rarely see. I wanted to know if any of you know any trustworthy online dealers, since I want to avoid Ebay fees. Thank you!

    List it here.

But IMO it's bullion and would expect bullion money

Hard to argue with actual sale prices minus fees. What have you been offered so far?

I would try selling it here.

Not to be disrespectful OP, but does everyone else feel we will be fielding more and more "I cannot get a decent price on my modern MS70 coins" questions in the future?

You can talk to different sellers and see if they take consignments. You can also talk to teletrade and heritage to see what auction they would think it would be best put into. I agree with others - it is bullion and I know my local dealer buys it like it is bullion. Good luck.

wheaty - when it comes to AGEs and ASEs most dealers don't care if they are slabbed 70, 69 or 35. To them it is still just a chunk of bullion just like the hundred other raw ones they have behind the counter. In fact to most coin collectors they just chunks of bullion.

And since the TPGs today slab them as 70s left and right, up and down, and even sideways, there are far fewer people out there who will pay any premium for a 70 bullion coin.

My experience with Heritage is that if you don't have a decent sized portfolio to consign to them, they don't want to see your stuff, especially one coin. I have a gorgeous, rainbow toned MS Morgan that they just yawned at :(

Have you tried contacting Modern Coin Mart? MCM is a division of John Maben Rare Coins. They are always looking to buy the moderns, and I just happened to notice that they are "Out of Stock" on the 2004-W $10 Platinum in PF70.

I'm curious how you arrived at eBay fees of 13%+ (auction)

    Listing fee - $2
    Final value fee - 9%
    Extra photo - 15 cents

And if you wait for one of their monthly listing "deals," it will be substantially less than that.

    You forgot paypal.

True. I almost never list anything over $50 so I seldom think about PayPal. Plus, my repeat customers -- the first time around, they use PayPal, but afterwards, for direct sales, I let them pay by personal check.
