Hello- I'm just starting out and went to the bank the other day to get rolls. Apparently they charge "service fees" on the rolls so it would be like $3 extra on about $20. Is this true for all banks?
Most banks will order you rolls or boxes for free, if you have an account there. My bank (Bank of the West) has no problem ordering me half dollars for free.
Did the teller have a mask and a gun when they told you that? 15% surcharge for exchanging currency? I would of asked to talk to a manager right then, If thats their policy, CHANGE BANKS! Hmmm, its against the law to rob a bank, is it against the law for them to rob us?
My credit union (Charter Oak) in Dayville, CT wants a $25 extra fee to order half dollars. And I do a lot of business there. Pathetic.
I don't know what TCF stands for sorry: http://www.tcfbank.com/ I think it orginated in Minnesota so maybe Twin Cities Financial.
in-store banks I went to a bank in the Chicogo area that was in a grocery store, and they were also charging extra for rolls. I don't remember the bank, but I think It was a Publix grocery.
I want to share my bank,s name in NC. It is Sharonview Federal Credit Union. They wont even give me rolls of change or anything. I called customer service, and they said to talk to the Gen. Man. She said no too. Then I called back to the customer service. and they still said no!!!!
Well I went to the TCF main branch and "acted stupid' and said I wanted $10 in pennies. They looked at me funny and said okay and I traded them a $10 dollar bill. It must have been because it was in the grocery store before that they were trying to charge me.
