Say that you had a nice program to keep track of your coin roll hunting adventures. What would you want the program or app to include? I haven't found anything I really like yet. Nothing seems geared towards coin roll hunting so I figured why not poll the group and see what everyone would like to have if they could get their hands on a custom made program. (Also if you are currently using something that you are just smitten with, let me know what the name is and why you like it so much.) Thanks
I might think that most good coin software programs probably already have an area where someone could do this. Although I don't use one myself. This could also be done on a spreadsheet.
Excel, Word, or even a simple "Text Document" works fine for keeping track. Here's how I do it, although I'm sure there are more sophisticated ways of doing so:
No Mercury or Barber dimes among your finds? No silver Canadian? How long does it take you to search a roll and put them back into a wrapper ready to trade in? Does your bank make you write your name and account number on the paper wrapper? That could put you at some serious security risk... A tip -- if you live in apartments where they have washers and dryers that take quarters, and plenty of vending machines, get known as the guy that's always got quarters for other tenants, just for the asking. You might never have to take any quarters back, and before long, every tenant knows you collect coins, and may offer you interesting odds and ends from time to time.
