    d_lairson Looking for loose change

    Hi All,

This is my first message! Yea! Anyway as I live in southern florida its hard to get D coins from the banks, etc. I mainly collect cents but I like to get state quarters and the dollar coins for my coin folders.

Basically does anyone do the old coin exchange where you swap like coins of different mints? My grandfather used to do this in the 70's and 80's but I don't know if anyone does this now? I know you can get them from a dealer, but do you want to pay $.65 for a quarter that just came out?

    Thanks for reading!

Note there are many forums for coins and many of them have swapping, selling, buying, trading, etc type sections. Usually you will find people that want to sell or buy coins and not to many for trading though.
You mentioned nice friendly type people back in the 70's and 80's that your grandfather used to do this with. Hopefully you can still find some out there. Just keep on searching.
Note the problem today is to do as you mention you must end up giving out your name and address to some unknown individual. These individuals may not have good intentions and now would know you have coins and where you live.
Possibly I'm to much of a pessimist with people but when you live in an area like Chicago you end up not even trusting some of your own family.

It's sad when you can't even trust your own dog. I wonder what she is up to? [IMG]
