    Hi Everyone,

I had to look for a coin the other day to make sure I did have it. It took me a while to find it. That's when I started thinking. How should I be organizing my collection? I don't mean what to store it in or keeping an inventory as I'm already doing that. But should I have all my US coins together? All my ASE together? All my bullion together?

The only problem I have is that, trying to organize it like this, might leave a lot of empty space in my storage bins plus I might need to get more storage bins just to pursue this strategy. How do you all organize your coin collection?

    Thanks!!

not sure how you do it. but I do my world coins by topical/themed collections and then each of those are alphabetically by country are put in 2X2's in a 3 ringed binders.

Well I keep most of my coins in OGP. The only exceptions are bullion coins. Those are in air-tite capsules and in air-tite tubes

The junk coins are thrown in bags with a face value of $25.00, $50.00 or $100.00, then boxed up and forgotten about. The low grades are in your basic Whitman albums, the AU's are in Dansco albums and the higher graded coins are in plastic cases made to hold them. All coins are inventoried. I find it easier to build complete sets this way.

I organize similar to this. If the coin I got was in a 2x2, I replace it in a new one. I put bullion coins in airtites if I got them raw or I dont feel the packaging is appropriate. I keep proof and mint sets in OGP and I keep circulated coins in the littleton coin folders I have.
