It’s a rainy day. Perfect day to dust off the coins and immerse myself in a bit of metallic joy. I pull out the boxes of good stuff with the intent of doing some organizing….. But to get to the good stuff, I have to take out the “toss box”. This is where I toss the odds and ends that enter my life…. Sit down and jeez, man. I feel like a genuine hoarder. Stacks of metallic disks of every sort. Even a plastic Lincoln cent! Arrowheads, world coins that I’ll never identify. Even drink tokens from the local Sonic drive thru.

So I figure I am not the only one here that has a toss box. So this thread is dedicated to the odds and ends in your toss box. The weirder, the better!

    My “toss box”.

Cool world coin that I’ll never take the time to identify though I’m sure it was born south of the border.

I can tell you your coin is Mexican and however many pesos the number on the other side says.

I'll take the Old Timer, I don't have that particular one.
Tell you what I'll do....I take the Old Timer and you keep the rest.
I know, I know, it is more than fair, but that is the kind of guy I am.
    YW.

Nope. Sorry Charley… Seems I stole that line from someplace, but I digress…… I am absolutely naked without an Old Timer in my pocket. Due to my advanced years, I seem to misplace them frequently. Occasionally they show up in the dryer or the fold of the truck seat. So that’s my back, back-up. Yes, I do have several back-ups.

LOL! That's the beauty of being relatively attractive, always looking for devices to solve problems, that are determined after-acquisition not to function as advertised, etc..

Being single, and having partners that love a "gt-er-dun"/pay-for-all guy, who doesn't mind their idiosyncracies, doesn't hurt!

I must have at least 50 computers/peripherals, from the old T.I.s through the 1st I.B.M. single-sided disk drive to a modern 11 O.S. with "cloud" storage, lap-top, note-books galore, and incompatible peripherals, etc..

    Many vehicles!

Coins is an impossible, with my continuous collecting of more than 70 years, where I've only seen one post on this site by an individual who this top SAT scorer has seen purchased, as my #1 proven current investment!!

All located in 10 buildings spread out on 8 densely-wooded acres.

    I've a large "junk-box"!!

    Hi Randy,
At least you don't have a garage full like mine!

You should be having dreams (or nightmares) of waddling down the street with an over stuffed back pack of bricks. :p

That's rather organized compared to my garage, I'm afraid to show you the rest of it...

My "toss box" are the drawers in my desk. No telling what you'll find in them, fossils, unsorted coins, old comic books, baseball cards, a bunch of little treasures.

    "Toss box"?

Oh, you mean a "convenient horizontal surface". Yes, yes, I have those, too. Problem is, they eventually become mounds, and it gets harder to make things stay put.

I believe the U.S Mint had a plastics company produce some experimental plastic cents during WW 2. But they broke too easily when dropped.

I just passed by a mobile home that had awnings on both sides.
A car wide stack of boxes all the way to the top and as long as the trailer ON BOTH sides.
I couldn't see it the doorway was clear to go inside.
    WOW.
might have to go back and get a picture.
