Is there a site that I can use to find out what a coin is made of? I have a few that could be silver and I need to find out before they go back into the "stuff" bag.

    Thanks in advance.

Check your Red Book. The Red Book lists the composition of every US coin. (You do have a Red Book, don't you? If you don't you should.)

They are not US coins. I do have a red book and I have found sites to id the type of coin, but not the composition. That is what I am looking for.

Like I said, go to numismaster.com, and go to help find my coin.
Then select the specifications, the country, date, etc, and it shall tell you about the coin.

The site T$ posted did the trick. Everything I had was copper-nickel but one. It is a 1933 New Zealand One Shilling. It shows as 0.5 Silver 0.0908 oz.

Yeah I used it a few months back, so I could separate my silver coins, from non silver :)
    Works awesome :)
