I am seriously about to start owning my own coin stars. if you dont know whtat it is you put your coins in and you get dollars for them. You have NO IDEA HOW MANY PEOPLE GET RID OF SILVER COINS WHEAT PENNIES ETC...

Today someone left in the reject slot

    3 silver dimes

    2 wheat pennies

yeah that doesnt seem like a lot but those were just the "rejects"

anybody else find good - edit - from coinstar

Not sure if you can own your own CoinStar and the fact that those coins are rejected kinda make it pointless. Unless you plan on camping out right in front of it at all times.

Coin Star is a company that owns the machines and has an agreement with the store. It would be difficult to break into their monopoly and there's no way to buy or rent one of their machines.

I’ve checked a few times and haven’t seen anything. You need a machine that doesn’t spit back out the silver.lol.

lol btw i am kindof serious i am unfortunately not an engineer i just need help building the machine from my sales experience and my persuasive communication we would have no problem getting them into stores. if i can sell a stock to some guy in Texas on a first call *cold call* and have him send me a check for 100 grand i think i can get a machine in the store

Alright there slow down buddy. My point was, these machines are calibrated off weight. The reason silver is kicked out is because it has a different weight. A lot more silver will get rejected then accepted. As for other coins ( Wheat Cents, Buffalo Nickels, etc) I feel the rates you find these would be the same ore similar to bank rolls. Before you got out wasting your own time and money (or someone else’s) I seriously hope you reconsider.

@ob3rst1337 I’m going to echo @Sullysullinburg . Owning the machine is pointless, because it rejects silver. You’d never actually get those coins unless you were always near it.

see that is why you will be buying bank rolls the rest of your life a machine is a "code" a machine is programmed by a non coin collector what happens when a coin collector who also knows how to code builds the machine. to be honest i hope nobody uses my idea more coins for me

Buffalo nickels and Liberty nickels weigh the same as Jeffersons and have the same diameter. Not sure why those would be rejected.

So how come no one else has done it yet? CoinStar is in about every grocery store I’ve ever been to. If one small tweak could make them lots more money, then they would have done it. If you really want to do this, I suggest you do a lot more research.

Only if I get to keep genuine Mint errors and I get a corner office.

dude did you read what i wrote there are 3 coinstars in a 30 mile radius of where i live I live in NEW jersey populated as shit and let me tell you why BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE TO BE TOLD WHAT TO DO NEXT THEY ARE NOT INNOVATORS LIKE ME. Do you also not realize the people who run coin star are not COIN COLLECTORS not many people in the world are good keep hating i cant wait to get your coins in my coin machine soon

Let me start with, stop swearing, there’s no need, and you will get in trouble. Not sure how there being three around you had anything to do with NJ being populated or you being an innovator. As for them not being run by coin collectors, do you know that for sure? Or do you think maybe a massive company did some research on coins before they made it a major part of their business? I never take my coins to these places, 11% is a rip off when my bank will do it for free. I’m not really hating, I’m just trying to help you. You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain. I guess I lived too long.
