Hi everyone, I just had a quick question regarding coin inserts.
I’ve recently bought some acid free paper inserts for my coin trays. Would it be safe to write on them in pencil and place them underneath or should I use archival quality ink if I want to put them under the coin?

Hopefully, they will be sold long before the paper/ink harms them. ;) I have little black boxes with red velvet trays. The round paper w/attributions in ink used by the folks I bought them from over 35 years ago has not harmed the coins. Over the decades, vapors from the velvet have produced beautiful iridescent colors on the silver ancients.

Oh ok, glad to know that they'll be ok even with normal ink, so pencil should be fine too I presume? And thanks for the help Insider!

I think graphite is neutral, so it shouldn't hurt anything.
