Can anyone ID this coin for me please? My mother found it at work, and left it to me to identify. I've had no luck so far.

In case the pictures aren't clear enough, the coin is worth 2 units of currency, and is dated 1894.

The reverse side has a shield in the center with some very fine designs around the edges (not wording, unfortunately). The rest appears to be a double-headed bird of some sort, whose wings make up most of the sides of the surface. One foot is holding a sword, while I can't quite make out what the other foot has (a round, flat object, with what looks like the hilt of another sword sticking out of it). Above the bird's heads is a crown of some sort.

If I were to guess, the bird design is Mexican-looking. But a little searching for pictures online revealed nothing.

Any help please? Thanks in advance,

    -Nick

    Nick-
First of all, welcome to the boards!
I can help you identify the coin but can't offer values or mintages as my book only goes back to 1900. The coin is a 2 Heller from Austria...I'm sure someone will come along with the other information for you.

The coin is an Austrian 2 Heller. There were 78,036,000 made that particular year, and my catalogue has it valued at 15 cents in fine condition.
