Coin id help

    Hello.

    I dug this coin with a metal detector. I know it's pretty bad to look at. I was hoping that someone may help to identify it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. It is a copper penny of some sort is all I know.

    Great find!

    It looks like a "young head" profile to me and that would put it in the 1729 -1739 range. Do you have a photo of the reverse?
