I've always wondered why North Korean coins had English on them.

The script on the other one looks like a script from southern Asia. Vietnamese or Khmer Rouge Cambodia perhaps?

    New Zealand 20c. coin.

Bruce,I am from New Zealand.I can tell you that it is a 20 Cents. It is in cupro-nickel.We will be getting new coins as from the end of July this year. The older coins will no longer be legal tender from the end of October. The 5c. is being withdrawn permanently,& we will have a copper-coloured 10c. coin.

    Aidan.

Bruce, silver coins are only issued as Proof medal-coins (NCLTs),but I don't know when or if any are being issued this year.

Doug, the New Zealand Mint is a private company which strikes New Zealand's bullion pieces, which are neither legal tender, nor are they officially recognised.New Zealand's coins have always been struck at mints such as the Royal Mint, the Royal Australian Mint,& the Royal Canadian Mint.

New Zealand's new coins are being struck at the Royal Canadian Mint,& will be released at the end of July.

Aidan, I'm not trying to argue - you're from NZ, I'm not. I'm just saying you can buy the coins there. They have them on the web site available for sale. And yes I mean the same legal tender coins as used in commerce - they sell them in Proof sets and Uncirculated sets in 5c, 10c 20c, 50c, $1 and $2 denominations. You are correct of course about the bullion coins - they sell them too.
