I am in the process of building my first ever date set of coins,I am doing a queen victoria date set of sixpences. sixpences are about the size of a usa dime and i am wondering what would be the most appropiate display/packaging for them.I want something i could maybe display on a table or a very nice folder. All suggestions most welcome before i make the purchase thank you
Airtites. Nothing better for the value. They run about $1 a piece. http://www.air-tites.com/index.html
im looking more along the lines of them all together not in seperate airtites. like a nice display case or something
Look at the link Jimmy - the AirTites are to protect your coins. And they also sell albums, boxes, display cases etc etc - that hold the AirTites so you may display your coins
Here's a couple more for you to consider, jimmy. Can't recommend any of them, because I don't have any first-hand knowledge of the products. LINK #1 LINK #2 LINK #3
I like Air-Tites that National Dealer posted. They're especially good about having album cards that contain different coin configurations than the "standard" ones everyone else sells - get their catalog. I like Mitchell's a lot, too: http://www.mitchells-collectibles.com/
thanks everyone i may go for nd's suggestion i have a few airtites for morgan dollars i was just thinking of something realy special for a realy special collection im building. why spend about 10,000-20,000 on a collection then use a 14.99 holder i want it very nice. i may build a display case. one day i want to build a nice library/study/computer room with leather chairs big mahogany desk, tight pile carpets and a long library reading table ect and would be great to have a display cabinet full of my coin's first though i need to build the collection and buy the old victorian house
One nice thing about Airtites is the versatility. With their small size, they fit nicely into albums, display cases, or just about anything else. One thing that you may want to look into is Riker boxes. Here is a link to BrooklynGallery http://brooklyngallery.com/shopping/shopping.htm These showcases are very easy to display, and if used in conjuction with holders like Airtites, you can create a very nice display. You have to scroll down to the coincases, show cases, and riker box section.
