What you need are the first three volumes of the Standard Catalog of World Coins, covering respectively the Seventeenth, Eighteenth and Nineteenth Centuries. Current combined list prices total less than $200. Your coin is KM#187.1, cu-ni, with a mintage of just 1,000,000 in the very first year of Peruvian decimal coinage. There are reportedly multiple varieties of the wreath surrounding the denomination on the reverse. In the 2001 3rd Ed. Krause values it at $1 F, $2.50 VF, $6 XF, and $22.50 Unc., and chances are the values haven't changed much in the current 4th Ed. Without seeing the reverse it can't really be graded properly, but the obverse strikes me as a borderline VG/F.
