Hello, I'm currently using 2.5 x 2.5 SAFLIPS for my ancient coins and I'm using a Lighthouse Publications GRANDE display binder https://www.lighthouse.us/classic-grande-album-for-m20k-sheets-for-2-5-x2-5-coin-holders.html for my ancient, however I do not like the material of the pages that are sold for the GRANDE binders, they appear too cloudy/dull and make my collection look unclear.

Do you have any recomendations for a nice safe and clear 2.5 x 2.5 or a 2 x 2 coin flip holder sheet brand that you use? Whether or not it is compatible with my binder isn't too important becuase I can just punch holes if needed.

Now which coin flip brand would you recommend, obviously something that is archive safe with no PVC or oils. I don't like the flimsy feel of the SAFLIPS and I'm looking for something sturdy and strong and will still display my coins clearly.

And maybe while we are at it, why not recommend me a binder or coin flip book too LOL.

    Any recomendations is greatly appreciated!

Very few ancient coins need flips larger than 2x2. Go to a show and dealers will usually have ancients in 2x2 flips. They can keep them in boxes and put them out in trays when they want to. They take up much less space than 2.5 x 2.5 flips.

    Hmmm, thanks for the suggestions.

I don't know how often people buy ancients from VCOIN dealers but most of the time, the coins I get from the dealers on VCOINs come in very strong and sturdy coin flips, very different from SAFLIP flips. These sturdy coinflips are not very flexible but I like them like that. I really love these because they make handling of the flips more easy and painfree to flip the top part to view the reverses of the coins.
I don't know which brand flips these are and I usually don't get a reply when I contact these dealers I've purchased from.

Anyone might have an idea which brand this might be?

Also there seems to be a disparity between "Vinyl/Archive" coin flips and "Museum Grade" coin flips. Is this a material difference or just a marketing element?

Saflips are very thin with sharp corners and dashes around to seal the two pieces of plastic together

Guardhouse are thicker and have rounded corners and dots around to seal

There is another brand (can't remember which) that has sharp corners but is thicker like Guardhouse - I bought a 100 pack and wasn't a fan as a lot of them broke when I was folding them over.

Yes, that is my opinion on SAFLIPS too!

I'm starting to suspect those were Guardhouse flips that I preferred, thanks a lot.
I'm not looking to really handle my coins too often so I will keep them in these thicker and rigid flips and just examine the obverse and reverse by just using the flips so the extra sturdiness will really make it easy in my case.
