Hello all, just wanted to offer up a suggestion. the other day @furryfrog02 posted an thread regarding doubled dies because of all the questions surrounding MD's. I thought it was a great post by him and one to learn from. I think it would be rather neat to have one pinned on top for newbies like myself to look at with real examples coming from the knowledgable members. It is also something that can be linked to when answering a newbies questions. Just a thought...
Many come here and dive right in without even reading the rules. What makes you think they will look for and read a sticky post about DDs?
Most won't, I certainly didn't, but this will be more for the experienced here to send newbies to. For example, when i thought i found a DD Quarter everyone took the time to explain to me what Machine Doubling is but it was still not easy to explain. But, if someone directed me to Furryfrog's post it would have been much clearer for me and less explanation required from everyone else. It was just a thought.
I wonder if it would make a difference (I know better) if one was called an Error forum and the other a Variety forum. Wait no I wonder if there was a PMD forum so those that have PMD coins can compare their coins to other PMD coins nah non of those would work because nobody reads anything.
That was from 2005, when most questions were about traditional hubbing doubled dies. Today we see few of those, the majority under question now are single squeeze mechanical "doubled dies". Huge difference. IMO. Jim
