These clowns are even better than Shop at Home coin shows. If you want entertainment, watch these guys! Their latest rip-off is concentrated on the new Buffalo gold. "This is a beautiful coin, especially the front and back....this is the prettiest design ever seen on a U.S. coin (x3 )... These coins are flying off the shelves. The mint has already sold out of proof coins. " These are only a few of their genius statements. And the prices, you may ask: Unc. raw = $899 MS-69 = $995 MS-70 = $999 And of course, all these coins are slabbed by NGC.
V.D.B. I saw them for the first time last night on my computer, did I here that cowboy say or make me an offer ? And they had n.g.c. and p c g s coins what is with that ?
Not sure I understand the question. The way it works is this - they call the grading companies, make a deal for bulk submissions ( cut rate prices in other words ) and send them the coins to be graded. Then they sell them. Just that easy.
I think at least one of his questions was did he hear them say " make me an offer " inferring the price was negotiable.
That short, little spooky-lookin' con artist often goes minutes w/o saying anything. Then when he does speak, it is literal NONSENSE! If he weren't so UN-COOL, I'd think he might have blown his mind on acid in the 60's, but probably he's just down right ignorant when it comes to numismatics. Ignorant and purposefully deceptive at the same time. How many times I have wanted to call and tell their operators to ask those freaks if they'd like to buy some of my coins for half of what they're asking the public to pay! I'd still be making a huge profit if they would, and I mean even on many CURRENT still-for-sale-at-the-mint issues!
One night when I was bored, I called into Coin Country and saw one of those make us an offer deals. I looked it up in bescoin and ebay and saw what they were going for and called in. I made my offer and you could hear a pin drop they were so quiet, then they are like. I dont think we are able to accept an offer that low. lol anyway....they are a good comic relief. and BTW Shop at Home is back on the air :goofer:
On the DISH Network, it is either Channel 221 and/or 225 at various times for Coin Country (or something like that); and DISH Network Channel 224 for Coin Vault on Shopathometv.com.
Actually, in the Dish Network logo, the NETWORK is capitalized and the DISH is lowercase. Don't know why even DN even types the DISH capitalized.
Country Coins I just punched them up on Google. They ARE rediculous on pricing: 1999S silver Proof set $575. 2001S Sil Proof set $200. 1 Roll of '64 UNC Kennedys for @169. WOW
I'll bet either Coin Vault or Coin Country, or maybe even Celebrity Network has channels on most cable and satellite networks. Tonight (6/30/06) the guys who host Coin Country were on DISH channel 217 (Celebrity Network). They wanted $2,300 for a set of 20 (1986-2005) proof silver eagles, of course not including the super expensive 1996w 10'th anniversary issue. Still, their price for the others ($2,300) is about $1,000 higher than many auctions have brought! These guys talk like they're the "BEST-PRICED" dealers anywhere. I laughed aloud tonight when one of their hosts stated something to the effect that their prices were compared to many other dealers, so as to provide their clients with the best available! Yeah, right! And my 2000 silver proof set is worth $1,000 or more.....right??
The coin vault is back on the air full time now, today they are selling the new buffalo gold n.g.c. ms-70 for $I,I96.96.COIN COUNTRY THERE ARE BACK AND THEY ARE GOING TO OUT SELL YOU.
I bought something from shopathme, and was very unimpressed. I bought the 10 count morgans for i think 4 or 5 hundred dollars. The coins were dipped and when I called back, they referred me to the customer service number that they had...a seperate number???? Later I called and askes why they have B price on A coin, when the red book value had C price...She didn't know what to say Another time, I asked if they could gaurantee that their coins were not cleaned or changed in any way, still they said they couldn't How legitimate does that leave you to judge them with? NEVER BUY FROM THEM!!!
I watch coin shows just to compare on Ebay. im shocked that coin shows such as The Coin Vault has been on the air for over 20 years. their prices are absurd and they say they have the lowest prices over any other dealer. for The Coin Vault to stay in business that long tells me that there are a lot of uninformed people out there that are very foolish with their money. those two guys on The Coin Vault remind me of used car dealers!
Although it’s a 13-year-old thread, it shows that nothing much has changed over the years in TV coinland.
