I have three 1/2 cents. One I inherited from mom (1835), one I bought slabbed (1853) and one I bought raw (1807 https://www.cointalk.com/threads/recent-1-2-cent-raw-purchase.346045/). The 1835 is from mom and is butt-ugly in my opinion. Sorry mom. Time for a martini.
The one that interests me the most is the 1835 Classic Head. It's a C-1 variety. Rarity R-1 (common) [There were only two varieties in 1835.] I'm just beginning to get into the Draped Bust varieties. Your 1807 Draped Bust is a C-1. It's easy to identify since that was the only variety in that year. It is also a rarity R-1. For those that REALLY get into varieties they would also ID the Die State. For that they would need larger pictures. I haven't tried the varieties of the Braided Hair coins yet.
Great looking coins!! I could be wrong but I think the 1835 had a cleaning of some type, not that big of a deal but that's how it looks to me.
Regarding the 1807, @Conder101 said..."...C-1 (only variety that year) somewhere between die stages III and IV. (Breen die stages, I don't have the Manley die stage book.)" (see the link to the other thread in post #1). Thanks for the C-1, R-1 info on the 1835. The slab for the 1853 states that it is C-1. Guess what grade NGC gave it!
