I originally posted this in Introductions but I thought I should put it here instead. I recently inherited 50+ coins. I was wondering about them and wanted to know their worth, where they're from, and things like that. Any information is greatly appreciated. I scanned the coins, here are the pictures (2 scans front and back): Large Front http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/4338/frontbigh.jpg Large Back http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/3589/backbig.jpg Small Front http://img253.imageshack.us/img253/3574/frontsmallb.jpg Small Back http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9294/backsmallf.jpg I also did a separate scan for the following coin, it is by far the oldest (1820) Front: http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/5683/front1o.jpg Back: http://img44.imageshack.us/img44/6539/back1m.jpg Sorry that some coins may have been the front on the back picture and vise versa. Also that I might not flipped a few coins and that the coins were shifted in the different pictures. Thanks for all the help! Read more: http://www.cointalk.com/t84881/#ixzz0ad3mKRPb
I'd say your 1820 coin is a Great Britain Crown. It likely only has value little more than melt weight of the silver.
The ancient Roman coin you have (next to the buffalo nickels) is a silver denarius of Elagabalus. I would say 15 or 20 bucks in that condition. You may be able to find it here. http://wildwinds.com/coins/ric/elagabalus/t.html This site may help you with some of the others. http://worldcoingallery.com/
