    Hey

Yesterday I found a collection of some coins in my room and I filed them today.

Most of them are not old but there are some coins that I'm curious about.
Most are from Austria and nearby countries since my family lives and lived in Vienna.

I have no coin-knowledge so I hope somebody can help me and give me some informations about them.
I'm happy about every information that is still missing on my list but all in all i'd like to know, are some of these coins rare and what can I do with them besides letting them rott in my room?

thats the list: it includes everything that was in the coin case, so of course I don't need informations about new dollar coins :), just ignore the new stuff.

    best regards

    Hello and welcome! :)

As for what could be worth how much, well, I'll let the experts judge. But it is difficult, if not impossible, to say anything about a coin's value without a picture of the piece. There are many coins which are common as dirt in a well circulated condition and kind of expensive if they are very well preserved ...

    Just a few notes:
    Griechenland
    405 Paxmai
--> those are Greek characters which mean "drachmai"

    Land ?
    KOIITEKL C.II.E?
--> probably kopeks/Kopeken; the "C.II.E" are Cyrillic characters and mean S.P.B. (St. Petersburg)

Münze 14 ???1938 StB --> such "winged wheels" symbols are or were often used by public transport companies (Verkehrsbetriebe). So this is most probably a transport token, and the "WStB" could mean something like Wiener Straßenbahn maybe ...
Münze 15 ??? --> looks like a Swedish coin, due to the three crowns
    Münzen 16 ??? --> a Russian 5 kopeks/Kopeken coin from St. Petersburg (see above)

I am guessing the "KOIITEKL C.II.E? " are like these:

If that's the case, they are most definately Russian. Welcome to the forum!

thanks for the answers and the welcomes

I've updated the page and added some pictures.

if someone needs a picture of a coin for more informations just tell me, i'll make one.

unfortunately many coins are in a pretty bad shape due to the sloppy storage.
