Coin Collecting software

Hey gang, What would a good software program for our coin collections. I should also be able to enter buy/sell info, track profits and values, and keep track of my collection grade and year, etc.
Waiting for advise, I'm ready to buy.

I have tried CoinManage and Numisexpert. I like Numisexpert a lot better than CoinManage.

 

i like Excel i know its nto what you mean, but it works great for me!

If you keep looking into it you'll find numerous programs for coins. However, remember the following: Excel is on possibly millions of computers already. If you spend many hours inputing info into a program that is on your computer only you can use your program on your computer only. If you go somewhere and want to look up something, to bad. With Excel you can put your info on a 3 1/2" disc, CD or one of those little things you just plug into the USB port. Then you can see it almost anywhere on Earth. Even libraries have Excel on their computers and they are open to the public. If you are at someones house and want to show them something, the greatest amount of people will not allow you to input some strange program into thier computer but if you have it on Excel, chances are they have that on their computer already. You can find magazines, books, on line info on how to use Excel. You can email friends, relatives or even ask here and find out how to use Excel if you don't know how.

I cannot remember how long the trial is.

I totally agree with that! Excel gets my vote! :hammer: Besides the availability, I can 'customize' it any way I want. Whatever category, attribute, etc I want to track I can make a column for. I keep one spreadsheet for foreign coins and one for US coins.

 

I have Coin Elite for Microsoft Windows 98 and really like the program. Here' something to think about when buying software. Lets say you buy a new computer, will the coin software work on that new computer and if not how much will it cost for the software update. My Coin Elite 98 doesn't work on my newer computer that has Windows XP.
