hello, i already asked speedy and morgen and thanks again for your answers!!! but i'd like to pass the question to all: are there any coin auction companys, outside the internet, that sells coins in a "live auction" (like heritagecoin.com)? thanks a lot Daniel
Scotsman Coin in St. Louis has two big auctions per year I believe. Often times, they are associated with a coin show. http://www.scoins.com/
I'm not sure I understand your question, as heritagecoin.com is on the internet, not outside of it. At any rate there are lots and lots and lots of coin auctioneers. Superior, Harlan J. Berk, Stacks, Early American, Bowers and Merena, American Numismatic Rarities, and the Goldbergs are just some of the places I have bid or seen advertising from. I lost out on a gold coin from A.F.Brock in England just a few days ago, when a live floor bidder matched my on-line max, and priority went to him.
In PHX they list all the auctions in the classified section of the local paper. You will see estate auctions and police auctions that include coins. These are usually junk and people who know nothing about coins bid them up pretty high. I have never seen a good deal on coins at a non-coin auction. If you live near a large city they should have a coin auction.
