I'm wondering if the coin auction I'm going to tomorrow will be affected by the Large Silver Drop today. The auction has about 100 Morgan dollars in it, along with other coins.
Most will be nice, I know morgans are price driven by silver right now. It would take a key coin or a high grade to get pass spot price. But I was wondering will this have a instant drop on auction prices or will it have a trickle down effect. Last time I was there silver was at 42 and morgans were bringing 37 each. Just wondering if I will see high 20's with spot being at 30.
This also makes one wonder what will happen with recent/current eBay auctions of bullion, concerning bids that are locked in based on yesterday's or Wed. silver and gold prices...or maybe all the returns to sellers based on little to no fault of the seller, other than the spot effect.
I was watching a couple of items the lest few days and I suspect a few shills are going end up winning some auctions. Can't prove it so no links as someone might of just thought the upturn was coming and they are just overpaying now.
Yes the silver drop should affect your auction. I think some of the ebay auctions may be getting hits from Auction Sniper bids entered a couple of days ago. This would tend to drive up the realized. I wold wait until the smoke clears.
