I really like this forum. Some members of this forum went to the PCGS coin forum (Collectors universe) and said that I hadn't changed much. Well I do tend to listen to peoples advice if they PM me.

I'm 17. I was a member of the Collectors Universe forum for over a year. You'd think if they would've banned me earlier, if I was doing so bad. I didn't actually post any t hreates and wasn't vulgar when I was banned, apparently one person told other people to PM a moderator, sportsmoderator1 and tell him to ban me, and I guess, thats just what happened. You see, I didn't get any notication of why I was banned, I was just ..banned. To make it worse, I just had won first place in a coin contest for young numismatists. And I couldn't even PM him my address. Sometimes (well most times) I would spent 6 hours a day or more just learning from that forum everyday. today I had nightmares that this moderator was stalking me and logging me off.

See, luckily, before I was banned, I clicked the "Remember me" button. Well, as long as I don't log out and it logs me on automatically or they don't purge me from the database, I can still log on and receive PM's. However I CANNOT reply to PM's, edit any threads, post any threads, etc. But I CAN vote on polls, and peoples reputation. I emailed the admin, no notifaction of any reason yet.

I am the type of person that goes to other people for advice, I believe this term is called egocentric. And I promise I won't annoy anyone here, like I did sometimes in the other forum, I think this forum has a larger population of younger people, which is good. Speedy, your'e knowledge of numismatics is amazing, you know alot more than I do! And I've read several books on numismatics

Anyway, I wanted to do (actually I have to do) an art project. I posted this on the CU forum, got mostly bad responses, but a few people did help me. They gave me some links, a few of them were helpful, but they didn't supply enough adequate information. This report has to be at least 8 pages long. I even went to the ANA, couldnt find any info, and the BUREAU OF IMPRINTING AND ENGRAVING for artist desgins and how the artist design the mold of the coin. That is what I want to find out. How coins are minted (ancient to modern) and the art ofa ctually designing the coin.

Hope i can get some help

I have researched on this my own before posting this. Over 4 years at school.

A few things before I get to the question...We are glad you like this forum but please leave CU problems out of this forum...this is a new forum for you and make a new start...

First let me say Thanks...reading is not the whole thing in coins...you need to get out and buy and sell and grade and listen...most of all listen to all of the questions and answers....I'm a longggg way from knowing anything much and I have lots to learn.

Coins (This might have changed) are first made on a BIG plaster cast...the die is a lot bigger than normal and then by machine a little think like a finger goes over the big cast and on the other end of that finger there is an etching tool that engraves it on little dies...the dies are then shipped to mints where they are put in dies..
That is not a good way to tell how coins are made...I'm still learning that myself...
    Here are some links....

Sorry, there was no way to communicate to the other forum that I was banned. Get this though, the admin banned me because I was under 18! What a joke. I wonder if he bans all the other Yn's too. I won't talk about it again.

Thanks for the links everyone. A few of those I didn't find by myself. Found the mint one. I did to find how they made ancient coins.

GCL - If you don't stop beating dead horses, you may find yourself without friends on this forum as well.

THIS IS NOT THE CU FORUM. Nobody here cares whether or not you were banned over there unless they are a joint member, in which case they already know it.

You said you wanted a fresh start here. You've been welcomed to do so. SO DO IT!

We have a number of YN members, including (as you know) a Moderator, so obviously we are not prejudiced against youth.

This thread is now closed and I sincerely hope and trust that you won't start another one to complain about that.
